The Best Work From Home Companies Today

Are you looking for a remote job or a flexible schedule? Are you wondering which work from companies are legit? That’s why you’re here. Right?

FlexJobs recently released their annual Top 100 Companies with Remote Jobs. There was quite a bit of shakeup on the list for 2021, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to feature some of those work-from-home companies knowing that they’re the real deal.

This list may be a great place to look for work-from-home opportunities if you are new to remote working. I’ve tried to include a mix of industries and opportunities as well. Several of the companies on the list are almost always hiring and are also companies for which I have received good feedback from my community of readers.

Sutherland Global Services

Sutherland has long offered remote opportunities. The majority of these positions are in customer service and sales. These are typically full-time employee roles and may offer benefits. This can be a great transition role for those looking to step out of the traditional work environment but aren’t ready to face losing benefits like health insurance that usually comes with taking an independent contractor position.

Lionbridge

Evaluator jobs are a fan favorite in my community. Not because of the endless amount of hours available to work — that’s usually not the case — but because of the flexibility. Depending on the project, you can often work your weekly hours anytime you want. And, it’s non-phone work.

That being said, some projects have more hours available than others. Some projects may only allow you to work one hour per week. But, this is a good gig to keep in your back pocket should you be able to get on with the company.

This company offers crowd-tasking jobs in addition to rating. It’s currently hiring raters, Internet assessors, interpreters, and more.

Upwork

While Upwork is known as the world’s largest freelance marketplace, they also need employees of its own to keep things running. Some of their most recent job postings include roles for tech workers, programmers, virtual assisting, and recruiting

Liveops

Liveops specializes in call center outsourcing. They currently work with over 400 companies and have over 20,000 at-home agents.

Numerous entry-level, remote call center openings are available, including taking food orders, payroll support, roadside assistance, and more.

Working Solutions

Working Solutions has a solid standing in the remote work world. The company has been around since 1996. They offer a nice variety of projects across many industries. Numerous remote call center openings including senior living customer support, tax season support, and more.

TTEC

TTEC was founded in 1982 and currently has more than 50,000 employees around the world. TTEC@Home is currently looking for call center agents in the U.S. and Canada. You will need internet access and a landline phone. Training is paid. You must be able to work 4-6 hours in one shift.

Current openings include those for licensed health insurance agents, auto parts experts, customer service agents, trainers, recruiters, and more.

Kelly Services

Kelly Services is a well-known staffing company here in the U.S. and they have been on the FlexJobs’ Top 100 list since 2014!

KellyConnect is the remote work division. As is typical with staffing companies, they help connect a large number of companies with qualified work-from-home agents. Positions may range from virtual assistant to accounting to customer experience and beyond.

Some of these positions are full-time. Some are part-time and/or temporary. Pay, qualifications, and working requirements will vary by client. They pay weekly and offer a bonus plan.

Stride (Formerly K12)

The education sector has been experiencing a work-from-home boon in recent years. K12 has been a leader in the online learning community since 2000. In December 2020, they officially became Stride K12 as they expand their reach of public and private online education options.

Most of their remote education and online teaching positions are state-specific and may require current licensing. You will also need prior teaching experience. The job board can provide you with all of the information needed.

TranscribeMe

TranscribeMe, as the name suggests, offers transcription services. While the pay isn’t the best, $15-$22 per audio file hour, they do hire without experience and the positions accommodate flexible work arrangements. It’s an opportunity to get some practice and work your way up into higher-paying transcription jobs.

LanguageLine Solutions

If you are bilingual, LanguageLine Solutions may be what you are looking for in a work-at-home job. They hire interpreters for almost every language. Some openings even have hiring bonuses available.

These are employee positions. Calls are taken by telephone and video and cover a wide variety of industries: health care, government, insurance, financial, utilities, travel & hospitality, business, law enforcement, court, and 911.

VIQ Solutions

Founded in 2004, VIQ Solutions is a leader among online transcription companies. They specialize in law enforcement, finance, corporate, and insurance transcription, though they do occasionally have openings for general transcribers as well.

This company requires not only transcription job experience but also experience in the field for which you hope to transcribe.

Cactus Communication

Cactus offers freelance, flexible scheduling, and full-time work-at-home positions. The positions they hire for are primarily scientific writing and editing. They typically require a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a specific field of study, such as Biochemistry or biomedical sciences. Current openings include Medical Editor, Senior Scientific Writer, and more.

In 2018, CVS Health joined forces with Aetna. This meant more potential remote roles in additional areas of the healthcare industry.

Some recent job postings include enrollment agent, customer service representative, case manager, and more. As you would expect, these roles require a high level of compassion and patience as you help patients navigate healthcare options and benefits.

Anthem

Pearson

There are only a few companies that hire at-home test scorers. Pearson is one of those companies. They also hire transcribers, tutors, and others to work from home.

These are often seasonal positions. Read the listing carefully for requirements and time commitments.

eXp Realty

eXp Realty is one of the fastest-growing real estate brokerages. This means more unique remote job opportunities for those with the correct skillset and experience.

A few recent job openings include onboarding specialist, agent services specialist, and transaction settlement specialist.

EF Education First

Education First is one of the few English-tutoring companies based in the United States. The company has been helping students around the globe learn English for more than 50 years.

If that one doesn’t fit your needs, don’t worry! There were more than 200 positions with telecommuting potential when I updated this post.
